Another 15 new cases of infection with the omicron strain of the novel coronavirus have been recorded in Japan, Qazet.az informs via foreign media.

The carriers of the strain arrived from overseas (the US, the UK, Germany, Switzerland, the UAE, Lesotho, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Congo) from December 7 to 12. Most have no symptoms of the disease, but there are fever cases. Of the 15 people, 11 had been fully vaccinated, one person was not vaccinated.

The infection risk group includes 1,100 passengers of the airliners aboard which the infected arrived in Japan. The Japanese Health Ministry insists that they undergo a 14-day quarantine.
