160 bln. cubic metres of gas produced from Shah-Deniz so far

Energy Minister noted that Azerbaijan implemented one of the huge projects of XXI century-South Gas Corridor

Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov held several meetings in Doha as part of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), the Ministry of Energy told Qazet.az.

Current trends in the global gas market, the existing situation of the cooperation between Azerbaijan and GECF, and prospects were reviewed at the meeting with the secretary-general of ECF Mahammad Hamel.

Energy Minister noted that Azerbaijan implemented one of the huge projects of XXI century-South Gas Corridor. Azerbaijan entered the European market by means of this corridor and won the trust of consumers. Touching upon prospects for the expansion of the Southern Gas Corridor the minister spoke about necessary steps in this regard and Azerbaijan’s gas reserves. It was noted that nearly 160 bln. cubic meters of gas was produced from Shah-Deniz field so far, which is the main source of this corridor and reserves of this field is more than 1 trillion cubic meters.”
