2% living tax will be collected from tourists in Turkey from January
From January 1, a 2 percent tax will be applied to tourists in hotels, tourist villages, motels, boarding houses, hotels, camps and other accommodation facilities in Turkey.
Qazet.az report that "Official Gazette" published information about this.
However, this will not affect the price of services provided by hotels.
Students living in dormitories, boarding houses and camps, as well as representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Turkey and international organizations with diplomatic status will be exempted from tax.
It should be noted that although this decision was adopted in 2019, its implementation was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, 51.5 million tourists will come to the country this year, and the income from tourism is expected to be 46 billion dollars. Next year, Turkey hopes to receive 60 million tourists.
