21% of entrepreneurs operating in Azerbaijan are women
"Today, 21% of entrepreneurs operating in the country are women entrepreneurs. It is increasing every year. Support packages offered for entrepreneurs also apply to them.

Qazet.az report  that Orkhan Mammadov, the Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA), said this during his speech at the public hearing on "Women's entrepreneurship in legislation: opportunities and prospects" in the parliament.

He noted that since the first day of establishment of KOBIA, there have been women entrepreneurs actively represented in the Public Council: "We highly appreciate the increase in the activity of women entrepreneurs in Karabakh and East Zangezur Economic Regions. Women entrepreneurs pay attention to business establishment in these areas. To date, KOBIA has received 1,332 applications for setting up work and business in the liberated areas, 70 of which belong to women entrepreneurs.
