In the part of the Zangezur corridor passing through the territory of Azerbaijan, 40% of the works on the railway line and 70% on the highway have been completed. The construction process of the railway and highways, which are part of the Zangezur corridor, which can connect the Eastern and Western countries, continues.

Qazet.az report  that Vahid Hajiyev, the special representative of the President of Azerbaijan in Zangilan region, said this at an event held in Zangilan with the participation of a delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

According to him, there are 5 main development directions that will directly contribute to the sustainable future of Zangila: "These are agriculture, mining industry, transport and logistics, tourism and "green" energy."

V. Hajiyev said that although there were enough difficulties in the process of reconstruction of Eastern Zangezur, there were also great opportunities: "One of the big problems was related to demining and security. In order to achieve stability in cities and villages, security, stability and peace provision was the first priority.

One of the main obstacles to reconstruction efforts and the safe return of IDPs has been the massive contamination of de-occupied areas with landmines and other explosive devices. Currently, the process of demining East Zangezur continues."
