65 endangered plant species were found in liberated territories of Azerbaijan - ANAS

“In 2021, a floristic inspection of plant genetic resources and usage opportunities of several regions of Karabakh (Agdara, Agdam, Khojavand, Fuzuli, Jabrayil) has been analyzed, the corresponding member of ANAS Zeynal Akparov told Qazet.az.
As a result of the research, 541 species belonging to 9 gene groups (wild food, vegetables, fruits and berries, spices, fodder, medicines, vitamins, nectar source, and dye plants) and distribution of 541 species belonging to 163 seasons, 391 species have been found,” Director General of the Institute of Genetic Resources.
According to the scientist, the conducted analyses show that from the mentioned plants, according to perspective species they come across in Fuzuli (127 types) and Agdam (93 types). 65 endangered plant species found in the territory and recommended to include in the new edition of the “Red Book” of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
