The next part of the aluminum produced in Ganja by "Azeraluminkum" LLC, owned by "Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation" OJSC, was sent to Istanbul, Turkey, by a block train consisting of 72 containers.

Qazet.az report  was informed about this by "ADY Container" LLC, a subsidiary of "Azerbaijan Railways" CJSC (ADY).

According to information, the cargo will be delivered through the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTQ) railway line within the framework of the "TURKUAZ" project. The total weight of the goods in the containers is more than 2,000 tons. The project is implemented in accordance with the memorandum of understanding on joint cargo transportation signed between "ADY Container" and "Azeraluminium".

According to the memorandum, 486 containers were transported on the Azerbaijan-Turkey route, 204 on the Turkey-Azerbaijan route, and 176 on the China-Azerbaijan route, totaling 866 containers.

The import of baked carbon anode blocks, which are strategic raw materials of the aluminum industry, was carried out from China through the Middle Corridor and from Turkey through BTQ to Azerbaijan.

From February 2021, when it started operating, about 7,000,000 20-foot equivalent containers have been transported between the two countries by means of the "TURKUAZ" train.

As a result of the measures implemented on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor), positive dynamics are observed in the volume of multimodal container cargo transportation. Thus, the volume of cargo transportation on the mentioned route increased by 37% during the 11 months of 2022 compared to the same period of 2021.
