A fight broke out in Tabriz prison over the national flag of Azerbaijan, one person was injured
A South Azerbaijani national activist was injured in a fight over the national flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan in a prison in Tabriz, the center of Iran's East Azerbaijan Province.

It was reported that in order to put pressure on Karim Ismayilzadeh, a well-known sportsman and social activist, he was transferred to a cell with convicts who had committed serious crimes.

According to information, three prisoners in the prison attacked Karim Ismayilzade after insulting the Azerbaijani flag. The national activist, involved in the forced fight, resisted two of the attackers, and the third ran away.

After that, special forces arrived at the scene. The injured Karim Ismayilzadeh was taken to the medical center of the prison and transferred to a special unit.

It should be noted that one of the charges brought against the national activist is hanging the Azerbaijani flag from his car.

It was also emphasized that the incident was purposely committed by the prison administration and government forces by the hands of criminals.
