A commemorative event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide was held in Ankara, Turkey, said the Azerbaijani Embassy in Turkey, Qazet.az reports.
It was noted that Azerbaijani Ambassador to Turkey Rashad Mammadov, Kecioren Mayor Turgut Altinok, Ankara University Rector Necdet Unuvar and AK Party MP Yashar Karadag spoke at the event held at the Turkic World Square.
During his speech, Ambassador Rashad Mammadov stressed the need for our people not to forget the Khojaly genocide, to prevent the recurrence of such atrocities, and to make world public opinion more sensitive to such acts.
The victims of the genocide were commemorated and the Khojaly Monument was unveiled within the event.
