All vaccines promising against Omicron: Hande Hermanci

"Omicron strain has not been detected in Azerbaijan yet, but it does not mean will not be detected" said Hande Harmanci

"The latest strain of coronavirus - Delta has been detected in Azerbaijan. People have mostly suffered from the strain in Azerbaijan like the whole world," said Head of Representation of the World Health Organization in Azerbaijan Hande Harmanci, Qazet.az reports.

According to her, Omicron strain has not been detected in Azerbaijan yet, but it does not mean will not be detected: "I was asked about it too when the Delta strain started to spread in the world, then I said that it would certainly be recorded in Azerbaijan too. Omicron strain will also arrive. Because all of these spread in the world and we will see the strains everywhere the disease is. But there is no need to be concerned. All vaccines, we know now, are promising against Omicron strain. As we know, protection from it is possible with hand hygiene, mask, social distance. The important point is that it should seriously be continued."
