An event dedicated to Victory Day was held in Washington

An event dedicated to November 8 - Victory Day was held in Washington, the capital of the USA, organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan.

The local bureau of Qazet.az reports  that the ceremony was attended by Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov, First Vice President's Assistant Elchin Amirbeyov, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to the United States Khazar Ibrahim, Turkey's Ambassador to Washington Hasan Murat Marjan, foreign diplomats and military attachés, the US representatives of think tanks and activists of the Azerbaijani community living in the United States participated.

At the event, the national anthems of Azerbaijan and the United States were played first, and images about the historical victory of Azerbaijan were shown.

In his speech, J. Bayramov said that the people of Azerbaijan, who have come out of difficult trials throughout history, always show unity and equality to protect their existence and territorial integrity.

The Minister emphasized that under the leadership of Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Army made history after 30 years of liberating the lands under enemy control during the 44-day Patriotic War.

In the artistic part of the event, Azerbaijani music was played by Azerbaijani jazzman, pianist, Honored Artist Emil Afrasiyab and his wife, musician Leyla Babayeva.
