Armenia has no plans to join the Union State, Grigoryan says

"There is no plan to join the Union State in Armenia's agenda.," the Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan said commenting on Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko's views on Armenia, Qazet.az reports.

"If you ask my position, then there are no such discussions on the agenda. Therefore, my position is that Armenia is a sovereign and democratic state and should remain so, "Grigoryan said.

Touching upon Lukashenko's views on Armenia, he recalled that the Armenian side responded diplomatically - both at the level of MPs and the Foreign Ministry.

The secretary of the Security Council said that he hopes that the Belarusian side will no longer make such assessments since it does not serve the relations between Armenia and Belarus: “We respond diplomatically and hope that we will not experience such incidents in the future, but if they happen again, we will think about how to respond to them.”
