Armenia short of hospital beds amid surge in coronavirus cases
Coronavirus infection has grown younger in Armenia
Armenia's inundated hospitals are short of beds for coronavirus patients, said Romella Abovyan, Head of the Department for Epidemiology of Noncommunicable Diseases and Nosocomial Infections at National Centre of Disease Control and Prevention of the country's Ministry of Health.
"Situation with coronavirus in Armenia is strained," the department chief said.
According to her, coronavirus infection has grown younger in Armenia.
"Infected children must be hospitalized. Hospitals are overcrowded, and beds are depleted. There are very serious patients; the situation is deplorable."
As of October 13, 1,271 people were infected with the coronavirus in Armenia over the past day, and 28 people died from the virus.
