Armenian parliament was not able to select a new president because of low numbers of voting
Armenian parliament was not able to select a new president, Qazet.az reports according to Sputnik Armenia.
The only candidate from the ruling Civic Contract party, Minister of High Technology Industry Vahagn Khachatryan, received a total of 69 votes, which was less than the required minimum number of votes (81).
According to the constitution, the second and third rounds of the presidential election are possible, with 65 and 54 votes, respectively.
