"January 20 is a chronicle of heroism and struggle of Azerbaijani people," said Assistant of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev, Qazet.az reports.

H.Hajiyev noted that in that period, there was an aim to break the fighting spirit of the Azerbaijani people by the Soviet troops through intervening in Baku under the name of "Udar" military operation, but it had absolutely opposite effect: "This has increased determination of the Azerbaijani people for the sake of independence. It was National Leader Heydar Aliyev who informed the international community about the January 20 events".
