Azerbaijani-Georgian-Turkish joint military exercises will contribute to regional security: Zakir Hasanov

The minister noted that joint exercises will pave the way for a new phase of trilateral cooperation 

Holding joint exercises in trilateral format will help to achieve operational coordination among our military units, said Azerbaijani Defence Minister colonel-general Zakir Hasanov after trilateral meeting of Azerbaijani-Georgian-Turkish Defence Ministers, Qazet.az reports.

The minister noted that joint exercises will pave the way for a new phase of trilateral cooperation and as a result will contribute to regional security: “Despite restrictions caused by COVID-19, several events with the participation of military servicemen of the three countries have been planned and held in the current year. I consider that the sincere relations between our countries and our trilateral cooperation in the field of defense are an example of a partnership for peace that can serve as an example to all. Our joint trilateral activity should be assessed as a peacekeeping message aimed at maintaining stability in the region.”
