Erdogan comments on Sochi meeting

Russia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Iran, and, if accepted, Georgia will openly and decisively confirm peace in the region with the implementation of the 3+3 platform, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told journalists on his way home from the Economic Cooperation Organization summit in Ashgabat, Qazet.az informs.

"In particular, at our meeting on the Democracy and Freedom Island, we changed the name of the Turkic Council to the Organization of Turkic States. All the leaders were positive on it. But some are concerned about it. I can't say whether Russia is upset about this. Because on Friday, the President of Azerbaijan, my brother Ilham Aliyev had a conference in Russia (Sochi meeting on November 26). A meeting was held with the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"In my meeting with my brother Ilham Aliyev, he said that the conference was positive and productive. The issue of the construction of railways and highways along the Araz River was resolved through this event. There is also the issue of the road to Igdir. Overcoming the difficulties of Nakhchivan by road passing through the territory of Armenia will be a successful start for the establishment of relations between Azerbaijan and Igdir. An important step will be taken in the field of freight and passenger transportation by rail and road," Erdogan stressed.
