Former Latvian Central Election Commission Chairman Arnis Cimdars, who opposed vaccination, has died of COVID-related health complications, Qazet.az informs via LTV.

The former head of the CEC, 59-year-old Arnis Cimdars, was a co-founder of the political party "Latvia in first place" and opposed the mandatory vaccination against COVID-19.

The Latvian Government has decided to impose a strict lockdown to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Thus, from October 21, educational institutions, most shops, as well as catering facilities and other service facilities in the country will cease to operate.
