NASA launches mission to Jupiter's Trojan asteroids

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) on Saturday launched the first of its kind mission to Trojan asteroids, which orbit Jupiter, Qazet.az reports citing Teletrader.

The 12-year mission is expected to reach its first target in April 2025. Its goal is to analyze the asteroids, which represent leftover debris from the solar system's early formation.

Lockheed Martin built the spacecraft for the United States space agency. The project cost $981 million.
