Average monthly salary in Azerbaijan rises by more than 3%

As of November 1, 2021, the number of wage workers in the economy climbed 16,800 people or 1% to 1,702,100.

Qazet.az informs citing the State Statistical Committee that 903,600 people were in the state sector, 798,500 - in the private sector.

Among the hired workers, 19.4% occupied positions in education, 18.7% in trade; repair of transport vehicles, 12.9% in the industrial sector, 8.1% in medical and social services provided to the population, 7.5% in construction, 6.6% in state management and defense; social security, 4.3% in transport and storage, 3.5% in professional, scientific and technical activity, 3.4% in agriculture, forestry and fishery, 1.8% in finance and insurance, 13.8% - other economic spheres.

Compared with the previous year, the average monthly salary of wageworkers rose by 2.6% to AZN 722.9 in January-October 2021.
