Azerbaijan demonstrated an example to Armenia regarding PoWs and hostages - FM
“State Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons and Ministry of Foreign Affairs has regularly conducted an activity regarding prisoners of war and hostages over these years” says FM
"State Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons and Ministry of Foreign Affairs has regularly conducted an activity regarding prisoners of war and hostages over these years, Azerbaijan raises the issue on all possible international platforms," Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov told journalists, Qazet.az reports.
Jeyhun Bayramov has noted that the issues are raised in the UN and its different agencies, in general in all international organizations by showing which international humanitarian legal norms have been violated by Armenia: "The issue was discussed at the quadrilateral meeting of President Ilham Aliyev, French President, President of the European Council, and Armenian Prime Minister in a videoconference format on February 4. The discussion was usually related to humanitarian issues. Using the platform, the Azerbaijani President also raised the issue of the existence of no information on 3890 people from the First Karabakh War until today, Armenia's almost not cooperating in this direction, a complete violation of international legal norms, human values, hiding information in this regard. Important point is that the Armenian Prime Minister promised to cooperate in this direction at the quadrilateral meeting with the participation of Presidents of France and the European Council. It can generally be noted as a positive development. But it is surprising that after a few days, the Armenian Foreign Ministry issued a statement in a very contradictory, questionable format that did not fit into any logic, humanity, or international law. Armenian MFA refused to have any obligations in this direction. It is difficult to explain it. Because it is a commitment. I said at the meeting with Moldovan counterpart that Azerbaijan shows an example to Armenia in this direction."
