Azerbaijan discussed expanding economic cooperation with Turkmenistan
Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov and discussed with him the prospects of expanding economic cooperation between the two countries.

Qazet.az reports was informed about this by the ministry.

According to information, M. Jabbarov noted that Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan relations are continuously developing, a solid contract-legal basis is being created for the expansion of cooperation, and economic-trade relations are strengthening. The transport-transit area is one of the main directions of our partnership, the created favorable infrastructure and efficient use of potential contribute to the development of the region. The shortest and most convenient route connecting the Caucasus and Central Asia regions passes through Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan through the Caspian Sea, which makes our countries an important participant in international transport corridors.

R. Meredov said that Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan relations are a strong impetus to the development of cooperation in various fields, including political, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other fields, and shared his views on the expansion of partnership.

At the meeting, the possibilities of development of relations between the two countries in energy, investment, transport, trade, communication and other fields were brought to the attention.
