Azerbaijan intends to involve foreign investors in green energy zone 

On October 5-6, the second Caspian Europe Forum was held in Berlin, Germany, in a hybrid format, Qazet.az informs, citing the Energy Ministry.
Azerbaijan was represented by Deputy Minister Elnur Soltanov.

The event was attended by high-ranking officials from the Caspian Basin and Central Asia, as well as German government officials, senior executives of international organizations and companies.

The Deputy Minister, who participated online in the session "Energy and Sustainability: The path from fossil energy resources to a climate-neutral economy," spoke on "Azerbaijan in the international energy world - a vision for the future." Soltanov said that along with other sectors, the energy sector, especially the oil and gas sector, has contributed to the country's growing economy in the 30th year of Azerbaijan's independence. The country's largest energy project, the Southern Gas Corridor, was successfully completed in late 2020 and plays a special role in ensuring the energy security of the region and Europe. The Deputy Minister also spoke about the work done in the field of energy transition in our country. He informed about the measures taken to establish a "green energy zone" in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan upon the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, noting the prospects for attracting foreign investors in this direction.

The forum continued with sessions on logistics and infrastructure, energy and sustainability, the digital economy, tourism, agriculture, health economics and other topics in the Caspian region.
