Azerbaijan's Ministry of Health: "Controls strengthened to detect genetic variants of COVID-19"

"Control has been strengthened to detect genetic variants of the coronavirus in the country" said Afag Aliyeva

"Because the infectivity of the Omicron strain is several times higher, the global spread of the infection is observed among the world countries. According to the recent information, currently, omicron strain of the coronavirus infection has been determined in more than 110 countries of the world," Deputy Director-General of the Republican Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology of the Health Ministry Afag Aliyeva told Qazet.az.

She noted that in connection with this, control has been strengthened to detect genetic variants of the coronavirus n the country.
