Azerbaijan unveils number of children repatriated from Iraq and Syria
Since 2018 relevant government agencies have repatriated a total of 358 Azerbaijani citizens
"Citizens repatriated to our country from Iraq and Syria are covered with the necessary social support measures by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection," chairman of the board of the Social Services Agency Vugar Behbudov said at a conference on the results of last year and the upcoming goals, Qazet.az reports.
He noted that since 2018 relevant government agencies have repatriated a total of 358 Azerbaijani citizens.
340 of those repatriated are children, while 18 are mothers. In 2021, a total of 81 citizens of our country were repatriated from the mentioned countries, 49 of them were placed in social services under the Agency. Dozens of relevant psycho-social rehabilitation works have been carried out by the agency's social workers, and this process is underway.
