Azerbaijan wants to expand cooperation with Vietnamese companies in a number of fields, including oil refining.

Qazet.az reports according to "Report" informs that the discussions in this regard were held in the meeting of Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov with the delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Relations Commission of the Communist Party of Vietnam Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hoang Van.

At the meeting, it was emphasized that there is a great potential for the development of cooperation relations between Azerbaijan and Vietnam in the field of energy as well as other fields. Expansion of cooperation with Vietnamese companies in the field of oil refining, renewable energy, creation of a "green energy" zone in territories freed from occupation were discussed. At the same time, it was emphasized that Azerbaijan and Vietnam are located on the Silk Road and the existing international transport infrastructure, as well as the North-South and East-West transport corridors, can stimulate the development of economic-commercial and transit relations between the two countries.

At the meeting, the important role of the Azerbaijan-Vietnam Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Trade, Scientific and Technical Cooperation in the development of relations between the two countries was noted, the current situation regarding the implementation of the protocol during the last period of the 2nd meeting, the future prospects of bilateral relations in the energy sector were reviewed. the issue of holding the next meeting in the near future was discussed.

It was also stated at the meeting that the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries was celebrated, and it was noted that the development of relations between the New Azerbaijan Party and the Communist Party of Vietnam will create great opportunities for strengthening the relations between the two countries. It was mentioned that the foundation of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Vietnam was laid by National leader Heydar Aliyev.
