Azerbaijani diaspora organizations operating in France have appealed to the French political leadership regarding September 27 - Remembrance Day, Qazet.az informs.
According to the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of Azerbaijan, the French-Azerbaijani Dialogue Association, Ulduz Cultural Association, Alim Scientific Union, French-Azerbaijani Youth Association, Azerbaijani Cultural Association in France, Azerbaijani Students Association in France, the Azerbaijani community in France signed the appeal which was addressed to French President Emmanuel Macron, European and Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, Speaker of the National Assembly Richard Ferrand and Senate President Gérard Larcher.
The appeal states that as a result of the Second Karabakh war, which began on September 27, 2020 and lasted for 44 days, Azerbaijan liberated the territories illegally occupied by the Armenian Army 30 years ago. It also gave detailed information that the Karabakh region, an important part of Azerbaijan's history and culture, was completely destroyed by Armenians during the occupation, and large-scale reconstruction and restoration projects are being implemented in these areas.
Expressing their expectations from France, diaspora organizations called on the country's political leadership to support the submission of maps of the areas illegally mined by Armenia, and to stand by Azerbaijan in the peace process Baku wants to establish with Armenia.
