Azerbaijani President: “During our chairmanship, we did our best to strengthen Turkic Council”
“During our two years chairmanship, we as Azerbaijan made every effort in order to strengthen Turkic Council"
“Today while talking about solidarity among Turkic World countries, we have a common vision and this common vision should be based on a very sound foundation, said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the VIII Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States, Qazet.az reports.
The head of the state noted that we have a common language, common religion, common interests, and common values: “During our two years chairmanship, we as Azerbaijan made every effort in order to strengthen Turkic Council. Today we further strengthened our unity in comparison to the past. Really a historic Summit is being held today. Because Turkic Council has reached the status of an organization. There is a very promising future ahead of us. Because at the foundation of this organization, we talk about natural allies that come from history, tradition, common religion, and language. Besides those, we face new threats and difficulties almost every month. Unfortunately, the world's leading countries do not take appropriate measures to combat these difficulties. I am sure that, we, as Turkic Council, will do our best for our countries and peoples. Because there is a sincere partnership here. We are heads of the states who want to improve their countries.”
