From the next year, Azerbaijani researchers will take part in archeological excavations with a history of 12,000-year-old in Stone Hills located in Shanliurfa city of Turkey, Farhad Guliyev, head of the department of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS, who took part in the presentation of the international conference dedicated to the Neolithic period "Stone Hills" (Gobeklitepe) in 2023 told Azerbaijani journalists, Qazet.az reports.
According to him, since 2008 a group of specialists of the Azerbaijan Institute of Archeology and Ethnography dealing with the most ancient period have been cooperating with Istanbul University: “Our numerous meetings have already been carried out. We were planning to start researches together for a long time. There is very perfect archeological culture in Turkey today. It is due to the discovery of Gobeklitepe monument. A big congress on the subject of the world Neolithic period is envisaged to be held in 2023. Our unit about ancient archeological cultures will operate here.”
