Baku's traffic jam problem was raised in the Milli Majlis
"The ineffectiveness of public transport in Baku is one of the important factors in creating traffic jams. The main workplaces, educational institutions, health care, and commercial facilities were mainly formed in the 3-4 percent part of Baku."
Qazet.az reports that the chairman of the Human Rights Committee, Zahid Oruj, said this during his speech at the joint meeting held in the parliament regarding the discussion of the draft law "On the 2023 state budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan".
He said that the total area of Sabail, Nasimi, Yasamal, Narimanov districts is only 4 percent of Baku's territory, but 28 percent of the capital's population settled here:
"Therefore, the ineffectiveness of public transport occupies one of the important places in the creation of the traffic jam problem. At the same time, neglecting parking spaces during the construction of new buildings plays an important role in the emergence of this problem."
