After the signing of the Trilateral Statement, the body remains belonging to about 140 people regarding I Karabakh war have been found in the territories which are under the control of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, and in the territories that the Russian peacekeepers temporarily deployed, and handed over to the State Commission," head of the Working Group of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons, Ismayil Akhundov said in an interview with Qazet.az.

He noted that 230 biological samples have been taken from these body remains in the Forensic Medical Expertise and Pathological Anatomy Association of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan and handed over to the Laboratory of the Forensic Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs: "As I mentioned above, work is underway in this area. But taking into consideration of both the character of the war and the Armenian trait, we can say that the identification process will take a long time. Experts working in this area also think like that".
