Britain has frozen the assets of Russian oligarchs worth 21 billion dollars
The British government has frozen the assets of Russian oligarchs, as well as other natural and legal entities, amounting to 18 billion pounds (about 21 billion dollars), which were sanctioned because of the war in Ukraine.
Qazet.az reports about this with reference to "Reuters".
It was reported that according to the Financial Sanctions Office operating under the Ministry of Finance of Great Britain, Russia surpassed Libya and Iran and became the most sanctioned country by Great Britain.
"We have imposed the toughest sanctions against Russia, and this is hitting their military sphere. Our message is clear: we will not allow Putin to succeed in this merciless war," British Finance Minister Andrew Griffith said.
To date, the UK has imposed sanctions against more than 1,200 Russian individuals and more than 120 organizations, including prominent businessmen, companies and politicians.
