Qazet.az reports that Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Cahit Bagchi said this in his statement to journalists.

According to him, today is the memorial day of Heydar Aliyev, the outstanding statesman of brother Azerbaijan: "We commemorate his dear memory with deep respect. May his soul rest in peace."

The ambassador said that national leader Heydar Aliyev is the leader who laid the foundation of independent Azerbaijan: "We remember the great leader as the leader who started Turkey-Azerbaijan relations and put forward the slogan "One nation, two states". Today, the presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey continue to further strengthen the bridges built by him."
