Chinese FM confirms date of virtual meeting between Xi Jinping and Joe Biden

The Chinese Foreign Ministry has confirmed that an agreement has been reached with the United States on a meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Joe Biden on Tuesday Beijing time, Qazet.az informs, citing Interfax.

"In conformity with the agreement between China and the United States, President Xi Jinping will meet by video link with US President Joe Biden on the morning of November 16 Beijing time to exchange views on Sino-US relations and issues of mutual interest," the information posted on the website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry reads.

Earlier, White House spokesperson Jen Psaki said that the meeting of the leaders of the United States and China was scheduled for the evening of November 15 (Washington time). According to her, the parties will discuss how to act responsibly in a situation of rivalry between the United States and China, as well as work "in cases where our interests coincide".

The time difference between Beijing and Washington is 13 hours.
