Court in Armenia grants motion to arrest “arms baron”

Yerevan’s court of the first instance of general jurisdiction has granted the motion of the National Security Service investigator to arrest the director of the organization supplying ammunition for the needs of the Armenian Armed Forces David Galstyan (known as “Patron Davo”) for two months, according to his lawyer Armen Harutyunyan, Qazet.az informs referring to the Armenian media.

The lawyer noted that he considers the decision unreasonable and will appeal against it.

Former Armenian Defense Minister David Tonoyan and director of the organization supplying ammunition for the needs of the Armenian Armed Forces David Galstyan were previously detained on suspicion of large-scale theft, forgery, and socially dangerous acts. Tonoyan was arrested for two months.
