Deputy: "I propose to give 200 dollars to each family"

"I suggest that every family should deposit money equivalent to 200 dollars in their accounts."

Qazet.az reports that Tahir Karimli, a deputy of the Milli Majlis, made this proposal during his speech at the plenary session of the parliament held on October 18.

He noted that 112 thousand babies were born in Azerbaijan in 2021:

"I suggest opening an account for those babies and transferring $2,000.

In a number of countries rich in oil and gas, this number is 10 thousand dollars. In our country, this number is 224 million. This is less than half of the funds in the Oil Fund. There are certain problems in the implementation of utility payments by the population in Azerbaijan. There are about 2 million 200 thousand families in Azerbaijan. I suggest that every family should deposit money equivalent to 200 dollars in their account. This will help them pay their utility bills. I think that this will not be a big amount for the Oil Fund."
