Deputy: When someone is removed from office in Azerbaijan, a large amount of money is discovered
"If someone is dismissed from office in Azerbaijan, a large amount of money comes out of his room, garage, or other place."
Qazet.az reports that Sabir Rustamkhanli, a member of the Milli Majlis, said this during the discussion of the draft law "On the fight against the legalization of property obtained through crime and the financing of terrorism".
Emphasizing that the discovered funds belong to the state, the deputy said that most of those who do this are people in office: "The word property acquired through crime does not belong to an ordinary citizen. The property acquired in this way belongs more to officials and privileged people. The detection of the income of officials in Azerbaijan, the time has come to make it transparent. It is time to adopt a law on this matter. In the developed countries of the world, these laws do not allow a person to use his position to rob state property and engage in corruption."
