Director-General of WHO: "We believe to achieve greater solidarity after COVID-19"
Adhanom Gebreyesus noted that the purpose of WHO is to achieve vaccination of 40% of the population of the world
Only two-thirds of the world's countries have vaccinated the majority of the population", said Tedros Adhanom Gebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization in his video appeal at the opening ceremony of Global Baku Forum under the motto "The world after COVID-19” organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center and under the auspice of the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Qazet.az reports.
Adhanom Gebreyesus noted that the purpose of WHO is to achieve vaccination of 40% of the population of the world countries till the end of this year: "We believe that after COVID-19, we will achieve greater solidarity. At the end of this month, the next meeting of the General Assembly will be held. We have to increase the amount allocated to health care, initial services. We have to increase special finance frame within the global framework".
Director-General of the World Health Organization said that we have to be ready for pandemic better: "Our health institutions must be always ready for high medical services. The pandemic has demonstrated that the richest countries have not been guaranteed from this disease. Protecting from the disease is one of the human rights. The pandemic showed that issue regarding the health must be in the center of attention".
