During the holidays, retro carriages are displayed in the Baku metro.
According to the information provided to Qazet.az reports by Baku Metropoliteni CJSC, "A", "Q", "E" type wagon exhibits, on the occasion of the Victory Day and the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the Baku metro, retro wagons, which are the main museum exhibits of the metro, are displayed at the "Icherisheher" station. .
"A" type wagon: These wagons, which were part of the first metro train of the former USSR, were produced at the end of 1934. There are 52 places to sit and 120 places to stand in those carriages.
"Q" type wagon: the last of these wagons, manufactured in the 1950s, was withdrawn from the line in 1983 in the post-Soviet space. However, when the Baku metro was put into operation, its production had already been stopped, and therefore it was not involved in the process of passenger transportation in Baku.
"E" type wagon: This type of wagons, which began to be produced at the end of 1959, were sent to the metros of five cities of the former Soviet Union - Moscow, Leningrad (St. Petersburg), Kyiv, Baku and Tbilisi. At that time, 47 "E" type wagons were delivered to Baku.
Although the last of these carriages on display at the station was decommissioned in 2011, for older generations of metro passengers, these carriages bring back memories of their youth. Guests of our city, all passengers of the subway can get acquainted with these carriages and take commemorative photos at "Icherisheher" station for four days from November 6 to 9.
