An explosion occurred in the north of Kirkuk province of Iraq, 8 employees of the federal police were killed.

Qazet.az report  that "Rudaw" TV channel broadcasted information about this.

An explosive device placed by the gunmen along the route of several police cars went off.

According to law enforcement agencies, among the dead is an officer of the forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

When the incident happened, police officers were patrolling the area near the village of Al-Khuwayja.

The explosion is believed to have been carried out by ISIS.
