Eurozone near inflation peak - Villeroy de Galhau
Villeroy de Galhau acknowledged that the inflation in the Eurozone is still "higher than expected, mainly due to energy prices."

The Eurozone economy is probably approaching the peak level of inflation, European Central Bank (ECB) Governing Council member and Bank of France Governor Francois Villeroy de Galhau noted on Friday, Qazet.az reports citing Teletrader.
Speaking to BFM Business, he pointed out that the United States and United Kingdom central banks tightened monetary policy as the inflation rate in those countries is much higher than in the euro area, underlining that a similar move by the ECB would be a "mistake."
Nevertheless, Villeroy de Galhau acknowledged that the inflation in the Eurozone is still "higher than expected, mainly due to energy prices."
