Expert: "The statement about the abolition of moral police in Iran is aimed at distracting"
"The statement of the Prosecutor General of Iran about the intention to abolish the moral police in the country is probably intended to divert the attention of the world press and Western governments from the internal situation in the country."
Umud Shokri, a foreign policy and energy consultant from Washington, told Qazet.az reports about this.
He said that this is probably a "psychological operation" carried out by the propaganda and security apparatus of the Islamic Republic of Iran. caused an increase in the scale of the protests that started later".
According to him, Iran may suppress these protests sooner or later, but in the modern era, the political history of Iran should be divided into the periods before and after the killing of Mahsa Amin.
The expert stressed that in the short term, Iran may relax hijab requirements and the general police control environment in the country, but in the medium term, restrictions on dress codes for women will continue to apply.
However, according to the analyst, the more important issues threatening Iran's future are not the protests of recent months, but the potential water and environmental crisis, climate change and energy issues.
