For the first time, the United States will receive artillery shells intended for the Armed Forces of Ukraine from South Korea within the framework of a secret arms deal signed between Seoul and Washington.
Qazet.az reports according toThe Wall Street Journal
US officials familiar with the agreement said that their country will buy 100,000 155 mm caliber artillery ammunition to deliver to Ukraine.
This number is enough to provide Ukrainian artillery units for at least several weeks of intensive combat operations.
U.S. enforcement of the agreement allows South Korea to honor a public commitment not to provide lethal military assistance to Ukraine, while helping Washington, Seoul's key ally, to rein in North Korea.
