Azerbaijan's first president Ayaz Mutallibov has died at the age of 84, Qazet.az reports.

Ayaz Mutallibov - First President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the last, 14th First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Azerbaijan SSR. He was born on May 12, 1938 in Baku in an intellectual family. In 1962 he graduated from the Azerbaijan Petrochemical Institute. In 1959, he was employed at the Refrigeration Plant and at the age of 26 was appointed plant manager.
