French-Australian environmentalist kidnapped in Chad

A conservationist with dual French and Australian citizenship has been kidnapped in northeastern Chad and a search and rescue mission is under way, Qazet.az reports according to the Chad government.

It was not known who carried out the abduction in Chad's northeastern Wadi Fira province on Friday.

Chad's government spokesman, Aziz Mahamat Saleh, said the kidnapped man is an environmentalist who manages an oryx park on behalf of the Sahara Conservation Fund (SCF).
