Georgia has reduced the period of self-isolation and quarantine for people infected with coronavirus and for those who were in contact with them
Georgia has reduced the period of self-isolation and quarantine for people infected with coronavirus and for those who were in contact with them, Qazet.az informs, citing a relevant decision of Georgian Health Ministry.
Under the decision, the quarantine period will be five days for employees of medical and educational institutions, law enforcement agencies, who have asymptomatic or mild COVID. A negative test result will be required to complete self-isolation. Those coming out from the five-day quarantine are strongly advised to use a protective mask for the next five days.
For other asymptomatic and mild cases, a quarantine period of seven days has been established, and a negative test result is not required. After the end of this period, the use of a protective mask is strongly recommended for the next five days.
For those, who carry the disease in moderate and severe form, the period of self-isolation remains unchanged - ten days.
For persons, who have been in contact with an unvaccinated or partly vaccinated COVID-19 patient, the quarantine period will be five days.
