Georgia's key priority is to deepen ties with neighbors - Foreign Minister

"One of the main priorities for Georgia is to deepen relations with its strategic partners - the United States and the European Union, as well as neighboring countries," Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani, who attended a rally of the ruling Georgian Dream Party, said in an interview with Imedi TV, Qazet.az says.

He said regional peace is Georgia’s major priority.

According to Zalkaliani, Georgia is facing a number of threats related to security, occupation, and threats in the region: "The country needs unity, stability and economic recovery as never before."

The foreign minister noted that Georgia will submit an application for membership in the European Union in 2024: “But this is not the end of the process. Our goal is to join the EU and NATO."
