German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier has left for Ukraine, said the German Embassy in Kyiv, Qazet.az informs, citing UNN. 

He will attend a ceremony on the 80th anniversary of the Babi Yar massacre carried out by Nazi Germany in 1941. 

Moreover, Steinmeier is planned to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Israeli President Isaac Herzog. 

In the fall of 1941, Nazi Germany carried out a massacre in Babi Yar. The exact number of people killed in the bloodbath is unknown, and various figures have been released. According to Ukrainian researchers, 150,000-200,000 people were killed in Babi Yar.
