Germany prepared to abandon oil from Russia

Germany will refuse to import oil from Russia until the end of 2022, even if European Union will not reach a consensus on the introduction of an oil embargo as part of the next package of anti-Russian sanctions, Qazet.az reports according to BB-CNTV.

According to the American edition, the administration of the German chancellor Olaf Scholz is determined to promote the withdrawal of Russian oil as part of EU sanctions against Russia due to events in Ukraine. Bloomberg said that the German authorities are already actively negotiating with alternative energy suppliers, however, the list of countries with which Berlin is discussing this issue has not been disclosed. The sources also said that the German government is confident in its ability to resolve the logistical issues related to this problem in six to seven months.
