“As part of the event, we, as co-chairs of the center, gathered for discussions at the annual meeting in 2021”

"As part of the event, we, as co-chairs of the center, gathered for discussions at the annual meeting in 2021. We could not even believe that we had gathered in Baku on this scale. However, our arrival here means that the situation with COVID is improving," Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev said at the 8th Global Baku Forum under the motto "The world after COVID-19” organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, Qazet.az reports.
The head of state said that it also shows that great importance is attached to this event: “Because the Global Baku Forum is becoming one of the leading platforms in terms of resolving urgent issues, issues in line with global policy. First of all, I would like to thank the co-chairs of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, Ms. Vaira Vike-Freiberga and Ismail Serageldin, for their exceptionally competent leadership. Even during the pandemic, their activities were visible. Thanks to their leadership, commitment to this work, and the ideas of the Center, the center has become one of the leading international institutions.
"I also thank the members of the Board. They also contributed. I also thank the regular participants. We, as members of the Board, had discussions yesterday. We talked as a big family, as a friendly family. This is the main reason for our success. If we look at the list of participants today, we can see that it is very commendable that in a short period of time, the Nizami Ganjavi International Center has become one of the rare leading international institutions. This institution, which has great potential, brings together the faces of intellectual circles, politicians, the press and civil society, distinguished by their knowledge, experience and wisdom. In short, today's Global Baku Forum will provide an opportunity to discuss urgent issues on the agenda."
